A common failure with the design of the trim module is circuit board failure due to water intrusion caused by an improperly installed or faulty boot. SeaDoo VTS Trim Module Test ( and Newer) The following process will test the trim module on and newer SeaDoos without iControl to determine if it is operating within specification. The only thing that was wrong was that the switch was wired backwards, so I switched the wires and good to go, the gauge and everything works. I disconnected the motor leads and jumped them straight to the battery and the motor appears to be working in both directions. I opened the VTS oval motor box and found a lot of water corrosion inside. From what I have found the only difference is the extended gives you more trim. Seadoo sells a VTS for 209 and an Extended VTS for 199. I used the wiring instructions that were posted on here. When I press the up or down button, all I hear is a click coming from the VTS module. I have a 2018 2up HO with iBR, I’ve read some posts on adding VTS and it seems a lot of people like it. Press start button and you have about 33 seconds before the power goes off if you do. It does not need to have the engine running. The guages must show activation if you want to run the VTS as that means the electrical system is powered up.
